SJAtrees is one of the foremost Arboricultural Consultancies in the south-east undertaking a range of planning and hazard survey work for prestigious commercial clients.  We are arboricultural planning consultants and specialists in large and/or complex development sites, with over 20 year's experience.  We work with major developers and national house builders and their design teams, and are proud of our close relationships with these clients, as well as Local Authority Tree Officers. 

We have a team of 10 staff including 8 fee earners.  Due to further expansion, we are looking for additional staff who have a minimum of three year's experience in arboriculture.  All roles are based at our offices in Tadworth which is close to Junction 8 of the M25.

We are currently have vacancies for both Consultants and Surveyors, details below;

 

Arboricultural Consultant, Tadworth (Posted 10 May 2017)

  • £32k - £36k per annum package (negotiable depending on experience)
  • 38 hours per week
  • Annual training (in-house and external)/CPD budget
  • 20 days paid leave per year plus Bank Holidays
  • Company pension scheme

Due to continued demand from our development clients, we currently have a vacancy for a full-time Arboricultural Consultant.

The role will appeal to someone with at least 5 year’s industry experience and who now wishes to broaden their career.  The role will include;

  • attending sites to carry out hazard and development related tree inspections
  • collation, assessment and evaluation of data
  • client and job management
  • attendance at design team meetings and networking events
  • writing detailed assessment reports and plans
  • post planning supervision and monitoring of new builds close to trees.

The appropriate candidate will need to demonstrate;

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • good IT literacy
  • a practical approach to tree problem solving
  • a minimum level 4 arboricultural qualification
  • a full clean driving licence and use of a car as our sites cover London and the South East.

Desirable, although not essential;

  • a degree level qualification
  • report writing experience
  • LANTRA Certificate in Professional Tree Inspection
  • AutoCAD experience 

 

Arboricultural Surveyor, Tadworth (Posted 10 May 2017)

  • £24k - £30k per annum package (depending on experience)
  • 38 hours per week
  • Annual training (in-house and external)/CPD budget
  • 20 days paid leave per year plus Bank Holidays
  • Company pension scheme

We are looking to recruit an additional Surveyor/Technician to join our team, supporting our highly-experienced AA Registered Consultant and other Consultants.

The role, based from our offices in Tadworth, will provide a wide variety of work including;

  • Pre-development tree surveying and reporting 
  • Tree condition and veteran tree assessments 
  • Supervision and monitoring of new buildings close to trees
  • CAD.

Sites range from single trees to large developments with 1000 + trees.

We offer a mentoring programme and significant training, including PTI certification. You will gain valuable experience in tree surveying and reporting.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3 year's practical experience including;

  • A background of sound practical experience in tree surgery/climbing or;
  • Local Government planning/tree management and now wish to broaden their career into Consultancy or;
  • Have recently graduated with a degree or recognized equivalent qualification in arboriculture.
  • We are also interested in experienced surveyors looking for their next career move.

The appropriate candidate will need to demonstrate;

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • good IT literacy
  • a practical approach to tree problem solving
  • a full clean driving licence and use of a car as our sites cover London and the South East.
  • a good knowledge of tree identification.

Desirable, although not essential;

  • Minimum level 4 arboricultural qualification.
  • LANTRA accredited, but we will provide training
  • AutoCAD experience would be a distinct advantage, although full training will be offered. 

Salary according to experience and qualifications.
