Planning and Development
We specialise in assisting clients with planning issues, appeals and legal cases. We can prepare detailed statements or proof of evidence and have appeared as expert witnesses at many hearings, inquiries and court cases. We are regularly instructed to undertake detailed investigations where tree failures have caused damage or injury and to provide reports or evidence in such cases.
Surveys of existing trees where land is being considered for future development, including;
- Large allocated or potential development sites
- Small development sites
- Corporate landowners, health or educational institutions
- Landscaped parkland, shelterbelts, avenues, and woodlands
- Individual mature or semi-mature trees or groups of trees.
To assess the extent and quality of the tree resource, identifying specimens suitable for retention and indicating their likely constraints on development, surveys are undertaken according to British Standard BS 5837:2012, Trees in Relation to Construction – Recommendations.
We operate to a full Quality Assurance system, and carry Professional Indemnity insurance with cover of up to £2 million. A copy of our Quality Manual and/or our Certificate of Insurance can be supplied if requested.
