Surveyor job advert 2020

SJAtrees is one of the foremost arboricultural consultancies in the SE of England. We provide a full range of arboricultural consultancy services with an emphasis on arboriculture in the planning system and we work with a range of prestigious commercial clients.

We are now looking to recruit another Arboricultural Surveyor/ Technician to join our team, supporting our highly experienced AA Registered Consultants and other consultants. The role, based from our offices in Tadworth, will provide a wide variety of work, the majority of which will be focused on pre-development tree surveying and reporting but also includes tree risk assessment surveys, veteran tree assessments, woodland surveys, aerial inspections, supervision and monitoring of new buildings close to trees and the use of AutoCAD. Sites range from single trees to large developments with 1000 + trees.

Candidates should have a background of sound practical experience in tree contracting and would suit tree officers or experienced contractors looking for a career move, or arboricultural graduates looking for a career in the private sector.

The role requires excellent written and verbal communications skills, IT literacy and a can-do attitude. A full, clean driving license is also essential. A level 3 or higher arboricultural qualification, PTI certification and CAD experience are all advantageous but full training will be offered for the right candidate.

We offer regular training and CPD, pension contributions, a bonus scheme after the first full year’s employment, PPE budget and 20 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays).

Salary will be according to experience and qualifications and will be in the range of £25k to £34k pa.

  1. Consultants: This would suit experienced arboriculturists with five or more years’ experience in the public and/or private sector. A level 4 qualification is also recommended.
     
  2. Surveyor Technicians: This would suit graduates or experienced contractors looking to gain experience in the private sector. A tree inspection qualification (such as the Professional Tree Inspection certificate) and a high level of computer literacy is recommended. AutoCAD experience is also of great advantage.
