Arboricultural Consultant Job advert 2019

SJAtrees is one of the foremost Arboricultural Consultancies in the SE of England. We provide a full range of arboricultrual consultancy services with an emphasis on arboriculture in the planning system, and work with a range of  prestigious commercial clients.

We are now looking to recruit another Consultant to join us, working with our highly experienced AA Registered Consultant and other Consultants and team of Surveyors. The role, based at our offices in Tadworth, will provide a wide variety of challenges, including pre-development tree reports and advice, tree condition and veteran tree assessments, and complex arboricultural problem solving. Sites range from single trees to large developments with 4000 + trees.

Candidates should have a background of sound practical experience in tree contracting or related disciplines and/or have worked as a Local Government Tree Officer, now wishing to broaden their career into arboricultural consultancy.

The role requires a degree level qualification in any discipline  and a minimum level 4 arboricultural qualification. Excellent written and verbal and communication skills, I.T. literacy, a working knowledge of BS5837 and a practical approach to assisting clients are all important competencies for the role. A full driving licence is essential as sites cover London and the South East.

PTI certificate and CAD experience would be an advantage, although full training and the PTI course are offered to the successful candidate.

Salary-  according to experience and in the range of £30k to £38k pa. SJAtrees offers a Pension scheme and up to 25 days paid holiday plus Bank Holidays. We offer an annual training budget for each employee and CPD and networking opportunities are available through our membership of the AA and LTOA.

  1. Consultants: This would suit experienced arboriculturists with five or more years’ experience in the public and/or private sector. A level 4 qualification is also recommended.
     
  2. Surveyor Technicians: This would suit graduates or experienced contractors looking to gain experience in the private sector. A tree inspection qualification (such as the Professional Tree Inspection certificate) and a high level of computer literacy is recommended. AutoCAD experience is also of great advantage.
